Biography
I
attended Cowley County Community College and Wichita State University. I earned
National Certification of Legal Assistant Status. Professionally, 
I have worked thirteen
years in the banking profession and twenty- two years in the law profession as well as
serving as a adjunct faculty member at Cowley County Community College. I was
elected to the Kansas House of Representatives in 1992 and to the Kansas Senate in 1996.
I presently serve
on the boards of Kansas Department of Corrections, Winfield Community Relations, Winfield
State Hospital and Training Center Advisory, Parents as First Teachers Advisory, as well
as council member of the Reach Preschool Developmental Center.
Jim and I have been married for 43 years and are the parents of four children and have nine grandchildren. Our oldest son and his family are presently serving as missionaries in Romania. Our other three children and their families live in Wichita and Winfield. Jim and I have been residents of Cowley County our entire lives.
